Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Navy

To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the formation of the Royal Canadian Navy, it is intended that a Memorial Window will be designed, crafted and installed in St. Paul's Church in Esquimalt ( The Naval and Garrison Church ) as one of the Canadian Naval Centennial Projects. St Paul's Church has a long association with first The Royal Navy and then The Royal Canadian Navy dating back over 150 years. Thus it is appropriate to have this Memorial Window installed in St Paul's. To manage this project a committee has been formed consisting of representatives from the Church and from the Naval community and a fund raising campaign is now nearing completion. The Navy Memorial Window Committee wishes to thank all those donors who have made this project such a success. The design has been approved and has been described as "elegant". The fabrication stage can now begin. The Dedication Ceremony is due on the 22nd of May, 2010.
Because of the small size of St. Paul's Church the Dedication Ceremony must be by invitation only. The invitations will go out on the 15th of March, 2010 to such persons as Principle Donors, VIP's, Presidents of Organizations who donated and some donors across Canada who have indicated they would attend. This helps spread the word.
The day after the Ceremony, the regular 10:30am Church Service will have a special emphasis on the window, and for the week after the Ceremony the Church will be open at certain hours for people to see the Window. A picture of the new Window will be posted on the this site shortly after the unveiling ceremony.
